How sustainable are the TIKK and TAKK watches?Updated a month ago

Sustainability is an important focus for KWIO. While we haven't yet reached all of our goals with the production of TIKK and TAKK, we are moving step by step toward more responsible practices.

Materials & Durability
TIKK: The case is made of lightweight plastic, making it especially comfortable for smaller wrists.
TAKK: The case is made of durable stainless steel with K1 mineral glass – ideal for older children who are more active.

Both models come with a polyamide (nylon) strap – skin-friendly, hard-wearing, and machine-washable at 40 °C.
The straps are interchangeable, which extends the product's lifespan and conserves resources.

Production & Responsibility
Currently, both TIKK and TAKK are manufactured in the People’s Republic of China. We explored the possibility of producing them in Europe, but found that maintaining consistent quality at a fair price is currently not feasible there.

We work with long-term production partners who manufacture according to international standards and emphasize fair working conditions.

Packaging
Our packaging is plastic-free and reduced to the essentials.
Each watch comes in a recyclable cardboard box – including a printed learning booklet made from paper.

We believe that sustainability is a process that begins with transparency. If you have any questions about materials, sourcing, or our goals, feel free to reach out – we’re happy to share more.
